On a recent visit to Valencia, I was excited to find that it had just opened an ‘ocean pool’ near the marina not far from the city centre (see link below). It even had a lane or two for those who wanted to get their laps in. When I pitched up to find out more details such as opening times, I was told that it had closed for the winter season. Having just come from wet, windy and cold Yorkshire to sunny Valencia where the temperature was somewhere around 18-19 degrees, I thought my Spanish comprehension was simply letting me down. But alas, it was truly closed despite the sunny weather. Perhaps, I’ll be back as it’s a great idea for the city. ‘Club Natación Delfín’ located on Carrer de Trafalgar saved the day with swimming open to visitors for a decent price. Friendly staff, good facilities, and crisp cool water. I liked the non-fuss system of a small piece of paper in the photo which indicates the number of ‘calles disponiblies’ per day. Thank you very much. https://www.thelocal.es/20190613/valencia-opens-first-ocean-pool
