Swimming in the Dyfi

Much has been written about the state of Britain’s rivers and seas. Campaigners such as Surfers Against Sewage and Fergal Sharkey, among many others, have applied constant pressure on privatised water companies who value profit over conservation. On a recent trip to Wales we were given some local knowledge about a great swimming spot on the Dyfi just near the village of Cemmaes. Given the recent lack of rain and worry about sewage, I was a bit apprehensive about what I would find. However, it was a gorgeous spot and, at least judging from appearances, was relatively unpolluted. I note the swim event in Aberdyfi in August which can be found at the following link and I am tempted: https://www.weswimrun.org/aberdyfi.html
