India is a country of over 1.4 billion people, and yet it is estimated that less than 0.5% of the population there can swim and out of that small number only a further half would be confident swimming in open water. Goa Open Water Swimming Club is working towards improving this situation by providing swim training, swim events and a general positive and happy vibe at their club. I had the good fortune to speak with Elias Patel from the club and the conversation can be found in the ‘Chats, Stories and Memories’ as part of the Conversations with Extraordinary Swimmers series. While amazing is often an overused word, information about their truly amazing work can be found via their website: https://www.goaopenwaterswimmingclub.com/home
